宮部篤良の作品で、銅地に雀の群が高肉象嵌で表現された花瓶です。
雀の親子でしょうか、生き生きとした給餌の様子が、色金を駆使しリアルに描かれています。
幕末から明治時代に京都で活躍した宮部篤良は彫りの名工といわれた金工師です。
篠山篤興に師事し、卓越した彫金や象嵌技術による金工作品を数多く残しています。
