中川浄益による銅製 松図 透かし袖香炉になります。

袖香炉とは着物の袖に入れて持ち運べる香炉のことで、

お香を乗せる皿は常に水平を保つ仕組みになっています。

中川浄益は日本の茶道における「千家十職」のひとつである

金工職人の家系で、代々継承されてきた名前です。

越後で鎧や兜を作っていた中川家は千利休から茶釜の製作を依頼され、茶道具を作るようになりました。

高い精度と繊細な技巧によって数多くの茶道具を生み出し切り開いてきた中川家。

第11代中川浄益が2008年に逝去し、現在は空位となっています。

”袖香炉” is an incense burner that can be carried in the sleeve of a kimono, and the plate on which incense is placed is designed to remain horizontal at all times.

Nakagawa Joueki is a name that has been passed down from generation to generation in a family of metalworkers, one of the “Ten Craftsmen of the Sen Family” in the Japanese tea ceremony.

The Nakagawa family used to make armor and helmets in Echigo, but later started making tea ceremony utensils when Sen no Rikyu asked them to make tea kettles.

They have produced and pioneered many tea ceremony utensils with a high degree of precision and delicate technique. 

The 11th generation Nakagawa Joueki passed away in 2008, and the position of the Nakagawa family is currently vacant.
